Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Since 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only might you see a drop with your heating and cooling charges, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide variety of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who can provide you with a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To accelerate the process, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the task and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a wide range of first-rate products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you excellent window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Lewes area home while you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to form streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella products. We require them to complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty guidelines. We look for the best Lewes-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Lewes Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and professional Pella installers means that your project will have the expertise of our whole team. We like to use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are many reasons why Lewes homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. Each of our high quality windows and doors are produced with high standards and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through lumberyards or big box stores, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers throughout North America. This unique way of operating our business gives our customers in Lewes a highly personal experience with the help of a local to Lewes, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
